LATRAME — Terms of Use: Content
1. What you're agreeing to by using LATRAME
By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this content policy. It applies to everything you publish on LATRAME — scenes, comments, characters, bios, images.
2. Minimum age
You must be 16 or older to create an account on LATRAME. Accounts whose content includes genres or content tags marked as explicit (see §5) are restricted to people 18 or older. LATRAME does not actively verify age at sign-up beyond a declaration on your part; by confirming your age, you take responsibility if that declaration is false.
3. Forbidden under all circumstances — immediate removal and account closure, without prior warning
This content is forbidden with no exceptions whatsoever, including in a fictional context, including with a content warning, including on a private account:
- —Any content sexualizing a minor, in any way — including a character presented as an adult but whose writing, description, or context evokes a minor (mental age, school setting, childlike appearance described as such, etc.). If there is any doubt about a character's apparent age in a sexual scene, the content will be removed as a precaution, without debate.
- —Any instructions enabling real-world harm to be reproduced: manufacturing weapons, explosives, dangerous substances or drugs, functional hacking methods, or any other information that would give a reader the concrete means to cause harm — even if presented as a character's dialogue, research for writing, or a worldbuilding element.
- —Any operational method or description of suicide or self-harm — including in a fictional context. A scene may evoke a character self-harming or thinking about suicide; it may never describe the method in enough detail to be reproducible.
- —Harassment, doxxing, or the disclosure of private information targeting a real person (full name, address, workplace, phone number, etc.), whether or not they are a LATRAME user.
- —Any sexual, defamatory, or humiliating depiction of a real, named or clearly identifiable person, including public figures. Characters on LATRAME must be fictional; a real person is not narrative material available without their explicit consent.
- —Incitement, glorification, or calls for real-world violence against a person, a group, or an identifiable category of people.
- —Impersonation — pretending to be a real (existing) person without this being presented unambiguously as a fictional character.
4. Forbidden, with the possibility of a reasoned appeal to LATRAME
- —Deliberately bypassing the content warning system — publishing sensitive content without the corresponding tag, with the intent of exposing a reader to content they would otherwise have avoided.
- —Republishing another creator's work without authorization, with or without modification.
5. Allowed, provided you use the content warnings meant for this purpose
LATRAME allows the exploration of difficult themes in fiction — this is a legitimate part of literature. This remains allowed, provided it stays clearly fictional, targets no real person, and provides no reproducible operational information (see §3):
- —Fictional graphic violence
- —Explicit sexual content between fictional adult characters
- —Non-consent in a fictional context (dark romance, dubcon)
- —(Non-instructive) evocation of self-harm or suicide within a story
- —A character's death, grief
- —Critical or historical depiction of discrimination
You are responsible for applying the appropriate content warnings to your content at the time of publishing.
6. Reporting and consequences
Any content can be reported via the dedicated button on each scene. Content covered by §3 is removed as soon as a credible report is received, before any in-depth review; the account may be suspended or closed immediately depending on severity, and reported to the relevant authorities where required by law (in particular any content involving minors). Content covered by §4 is reviewed before removal, and you may contest the decision by writing to [contact address to be defined].
7. Limitation of liability
LATRAME hosts user-generated content and does not control it before publication. We remove reported content in accordance with this policy as promptly as reasonably possible, but we do not guarantee immediate detection of every violation. Use of LATRAME is at your own risk with regard to content published by other users.
